How Planit got your details, and what we do with them
Who we are. Planit is a New Zealand travel planning service run by Planit Bnb Limited (NZBN 9429046991638), Mountain Club, Level 3, 36 Grant Road, Queenstown. We work with the host of the place you've booked to help their guests plan what to do while they're here.
Why your host shared your details. Your host (or the booking site they use, like Airbnb or Booking.com) gave us your name, contact details, booking dates and the property you're staying at. That's so a real person from our team can offer you free help planning activities, transport and experiences during your stay.
What we don't have. We don't receive your payment details, your ID, or anything else you gave the booking site. Just enough to say hello and help with your trip.
How we'll contact you. By WhatsApp, SMS or email. You'll get a small number of messages around your stay, starting with an introduction. If you'd rather we didn't, that's completely fine: tap the opt out link in any of our messages, reply to tell us, or email support@planit.co. We'll stop contacting you and delete your details, apart from anything the law requires us to keep. Your accommodation booking is not affected either way.
If you book something through us. You pay Planit, and the activity is provided by the local operator who runs it. We'll send your confirmation and help with any changes. If weather or anything else disrupts your plans, message us and we'll sort it with the operator.
Where your details are kept. With our service providers in Australia and the United States, protected as required by the NZ Privacy Act 2020 and the Australian Privacy Act 1988. We keep them only as long as we need to, then delete them.
Your rights. You can ask us any time for a copy of your details, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. Email support@planit.co and we'll respond within 20 working days. If you're not happy with how we handle it, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz) in New Zealand or the OAIC (oaic.gov.au) in Australia.
